Bombshell Muse Monday and DICC #78

Happy June! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for this month's Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday, and the second is for Desert Islands Crafters Challenge. This month, the Muse Monday set is Homeward Bound. This is a set I was a bit wary about, until I started to use it. I quickly fell in love with it, and it's now one of my favorites.

I decided to go in a new direction and have the ship sailing in the rain. I purposely did not ink up the sun, to add to the bit of gloom I was trying to achieve.

I used a lot of grays and some creams to mute down the colors. It was all colored with alcohol markers. I also clear embossed rain drops on top of the ship, as well as on my background by using the Rain stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils.

The chain is from the Homeward Bound set as well. The set has several smaller images that are so fantastic. It's one of the reasons I love to use it. My fabulous ribbon is from May Arts. I didn't glue it down too much, because I wanted it to flutter and have movement. Like the sails and the rain. Remember, the Homeward Bound set will be on sale for the entire month, so be sure to grab it if you don't already own it.

For DICC, we are sponsored by The Stamping Chef. We will be taking the Summer off after this challenge. You'll have to go to the DICC blog to see the itinerary, but know that I used #'s 2, 6, 8, 9, and 10. My image is called The Big Teese.

I don't know why, but my colors look totally mismatched. They actually look great together in person, so you'll have to take my word for it. I colored the image with watercolor markers, and I broke out another stencil from Dreamweaver. This one is called Gears, and I applied a fabulous copper colored metallic embossing paste, also from Dreamweaver.

She how the paste shines? Again, my ribbon is from May Arts. The dies I used to cut my ovals are also from Dreamweaver....they are really expanding their die selection, and I am thrilled about it. Please be sure to visit both the Bombshell Blog as well as the DICC blog to check out what my teamies have created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
